Karnataka PG Medical Counselling Rounds
Counselling follows a 2 + 1 + stray vacancy structure, with option entry done only once. KEA runs all rounds online.
Option entry and mock allotment
You enter your priority list once, and it carries over to later rounds.
Enter every option you would accept, even where no seats are currently shown, because new seats or surrenders may appear later.
KEA then runs a mock allotment. It only indicates your likely seat and lets you revise your options before the real allotment.
KEA PG Medical Round 1 Counselling
After allotment you must choose one of four options:
- Choice 1: You are fully satisfied. You pay the fee, submit original documents, collect your admission order and join. You cannot take part in later rounds.
- Choice 2: You are satisfied but want an upgrade. You pay the fee and keep the seat, and only higher-priority options are considered in Round 2. If none is allotted, you keep your Round 1 seat.
- Choice 3: You surrender the seat without paying the fee and enter Round 2 with your remaining options.
- Choice 4: You quit KEA counselling because you got a seat elsewhere.
If you choose nothing, your seat is cancelled automatically and you are out of further rounds.
KEA PG Medical Round 2 Counselling
Eligible candidates are Choice 2 and Choice 3 candidates who submitted original documents, plus candidates who got no seat in Round 1 but submitted documents.
There are no choices after this allotment.
Round 3 (Mop-up)
You re-enter your options afresh. Candidates with no seat can take part, and those who have joined a KEA college can go for an upgrade.
If you get nothing, your earlier seat stands. If you get a better seat, the old one is released.
Stray Vacancy Round
Only candidates who have not been allotted any PG seat in any round by KEA are eligible.
Candidates who reported to a college via MCC, a deemed university or another board are excluded.
