MBBS Admission In India
To study MBBS in India qualifying NEET exam is mandatory for all students.
The National Testing Agency will conduct the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test for MBBS Admission in India.
The cost of the NEET Application is 1700/- INR for general-category students.
NEET UG 2023 is scheduled to be held on 07 May 2023.
The duration of the examination is 3 hours and 20 minutes.
Candidates must apply for the NEET UG exam online mode by visiting the NTA website.
National Testing Agency:
The Ministry of Education, Government of India has established the National Testing Agency as an independent, autonomous testing organization for conducting NEET UG.
NEET UG exam scorecard will be accepted by all medical colleges in India offering MBBS courses.
The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test is being conducted by NTA since 2019 for MBBS Admission in India.
NEET UG:
As per the National Medical Commission Act, 2019, the NEET UG has to be conducted as a common & uniform National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test for admission to undergraduate medical courses offered by medical colleges in India.
The NEET UG scorecard conducted by NTA will be accepted for admission to Medical, Dental, Ayurveda, Unani, and Homeopathy undergraduate courses.
The responsibility of NTA is limited to inviting online applications for the NEET entrance test, declaration of the results, and providing All India Rank to the Directorate General of Health Services, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India.
The Test pattern of NEET UG comprises four subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Botany, and Zoology.
The total mark of the questions is 720.
Each subject will consist of 50 multiple-choice questions of 180 marks.
Each current answer will be awarded 4 marks and for an incorrect response, a -1 mark shall be deducted.
NEET UG is a pen-paper-based test.
NEET UG exam shall be conducted in 13 different languages.

Medical Counselling Committee will conduct the counseling for 15% of MBBS Seats under All India Quota Seats and 100% MBBS seats in Deemed Universities.
The counseling for admission to MBBS seats controlled by the State Government shall be conducted by the designated authorities of the State Government.
The result of the NEET UG exam shall be utilized by the respective authorities of the Central & State Governments following the respective eligibility criteria for MBBS admission.
Eligibility Criteria to Appear in NEET UG:
A candidate must have completed 17 years of age at the time of MBBS admission in India.
Candidate must pass the qualifying exam with English, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as the main subjects in class 12th.
Must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks in science subjects in class 12th.
Candidates who have passed class 12th from open school or as private candidate shall not be eligible to appear in NEET UG.
How to get admission in Private Medical Colleges
MBBS Admission to private medical colleges will be conducted by the respective counseling authorities of the state & center.
Medical Counseling Committee will conduct online counseling for admission to deemed medical colleges.
Respective state medical counseling authorities will conduct counseling for MBBS admission in every state.
An All India merit list of the qualified candidates shall be prepared based on the All India Rank of the NEET UG.
All candidates must be admitted to the MBBS course based on the All India Merit list following the existing reservation policy.
NTA will only provide All India Rank to the candidates while admitting authorities will invite applications for counseling and a merit list shall be drawn based on All India Rank by the admitting authorities.
Admission under State Quota Seats shall be subject to the reservation policy and eligibility criteria of the respective states.
MCC Counselling for Deemed Medical Colleges:
An Online counselling would be conducted by the Medical Counseling Committee of the Directorate General of Health Services for MBBS admission in deemed medical universities.
Seats Reservation Policy for Deemed Universities:
85% of the total intake will be reserved under management quota seats.
15% of the total intake shall be reserved for NRI students.
MCC Counseling for Deemed Medical Universities
MCC will conduct counseling for 100% of seats in deemed medical universities.
There will be four rounds of counseling: Round 1, Round 2, Mop Up Round, and Stray Vacancy.
Out of the 4 rounds, 3 rounds will be conducted by MCC.
The Stray Vacancy Round will be conducted by the respective Deemed Universities for which a list of students in order of merit equalling ten times the number of vacant seats will be forwarded to the Deemed Universities for the stray round vacancy.
There will be no reservation for OBC/SC/ST/PWD/EWS candidates in Deemed Universities.
There might be reservations for Jain Minority or Muslim Minority in certain deemed universities.
Round 1 Counseling:
Main Counseling Registration will include payment of Non-Refundable Registration Fee and Refundable Security Deposit.
Exercising of Choices and Locking of Choices
Publication of results of Round 1 counseling on the MCC website.
Reporting to the allotted medical college against round 1.
Round 2 Counseling:
Candidates who registered for Round 1 and did not get any seat allotted are not required to register again.
Fresh new registration for Round 2 for those candidates who have not registered in Round 1.

MBBS Admission in Karnataka
Students who wish to pursue MBBS in India can apply for admission to medical colleges in Karnataka.
All India NEET Qualified Students are eligible to apply for MBBS admission in Karnataka.
Counseling for Admission to Medical courses will be conducted by Karnataka Examination Authority.
Counseling will be conducted for MBBS Admission in private & government medical colleges of Karnataka including NRI & Management quota seats.
Document verification after online registration for counseling is mandatory for seat allotments in Karnataka.
Registered candidates with unverified documents will not be allowed for seat allotment through counseling or during stray vacancy rounds conducted by the colleges.
During the stray vacancy round, the list of registered and verified candidates who have not been allotted any seats will be sent to colleges to fill up the vacant seats.
The responsibility of the Karnataka Examination Authority is limited to the conduct of centralized counseling which includes online registration, document verification, online counseling, seat allotment, and the issue of admission letters.
Registration for Karnataka counseling is made online through the website of the Karnataka Examination Authority.
The registration fee is 2000 INR for Non-Karnataka students and 1000 INR for Karnataka General Category students.
Only NEET-qualified candidates who become eligible after document verification are allowed to participate in the seat allotment process.
The seats are classified into four categories namely government, private, NRI seats, and management quota seats.
Government seats include seats in Government & Private medical colleges of Karnataka.
50% of the Private seats are reserved for the Karnataka domicile candidates in private medical colleges.
The remaining 50% of seats are reserved as open quota seats to be filled by NEET UG All India Merit and All India candidates are eligible for open category seats.
15% of the total seats are reserved for NRI quota in private medical colleges of Karnataka.
5% of the total seats are reserved as other quota or management quota seats.
